Why India must be Permanent Member of UNSC

The UN Security Council is one of most important organ of UN group, which is responsible to maintain the international peace and security. It comprise15 members, out of which ten are non-permanent who get select for a two year term and 5 are permanent members.  The five permanent members hold veto power and the other non-permanent members have voting rights on all resolutions that come in front of SC
Recently India is elected as a non-permanent member of UNSC by 187 votes out of 192 that show the goodwill and reputation of India at the world forum. However, permanent status is still a far dream. Since a long time, India is demanding for the permanent membership of UN Security Council. India has all the reason to claim for this status. It is one of the oldest civilizations of world, the largest democracy of world, second most populated country in world (every 6th person in world is an Indian). It is the second biggest economy of Asia and fourth largest in world. India is the founder of Non-alignment policy which helped the 3rd world countries to keep their foreign and domestic policies unaffected from the rivalry of superpowers and showed them a path of peace, freedom, development and co-existence. India is a nuclear power and has a strong commitment towards non-proliferation and dis-armament. Our nation always actively contributed in UNPK missions, when and wherever it was asked. In the present scenario when India has emerged as a leader of global south and an important member of G-20 and Outreach-5 countries, not even a single global issue is there, where India’s presence, co-operation and opinion are not required whether it is neo economic order, WTO talks, global environmental talks, reforms in international organizations etc. In short, any global organization/institution/system/course is incomplete without India
